A Tampa woman's begging for a new family for her dog, after police say her son burned their home


Looking at all the charred rubble, it's hard to believe Alba Marrero's Tampa home burned over a cell phone last montre bracelet cuir month, when she refused to hand it over to her son.

"He got so upset, he grabbed me by montre bracelet cuir my wrist and pushed me on the bed," Marrero remembers.


The 62-year old says her 18-year-old son, Aldwin Caceres, head-butted her twice.

She escaped to a friend's house, where a montre bracelet cuir few hours later, police knocked on the door.

"They said, 'Your son set your house on fire.' I said, 'No, he couldn't do that. He couldn't do that," Marrero sighed.

Investigators claim the montre bracelet cuir teen doused couches and his mother's bed with some kind of accelerant. Marrero raced to her house, and saw her son in the back of a patrol car.

"Everything was gone," she cried.

When Marrero says "everything", like clothes, records, even a roof over her head, she's not most upset about any of that really.

A month later, a tennis ball's still sitting in the ashes, and her dog, "Lucky" is in the custody of Hillsborough County Animal Services.

Firefighters rescued the 5-year-old montre femme cuir lab mix when they found him racing around the burning house, trying to get inside.

After a trip to a nearby vet for montre femme cuir smoke inhalation, Lucky moved into the shelter on Falkenburg Road.

"He actually put his paws up near me and put his head on my chest," Melendez said. "We're just looking for someone who's going to take the time and effort for him, give him the love and attention that he needs."

"He needs a good family. He has so much going for him."

Essentially homeless, Marrero is bouncing from montre femme cuir family to friends' homes. While she's lost one son to jail, she says she's lost her other
too.

"I know he misses us," Marrero said, a tear dripping down her cheek. "If somebody
could help and give him a good home, I'd be content with that."
